Numa manhã plena de sol neste final de outubro, visitei o Areinho, descendo-o desde a Pousada do Porto, na zona oriental da cidade, até à ponte de São João, observando na margem norte do rio Douro as suas edificações e no rio e na margem sul, do lado de Gaia, pequenas parcelas de praias fluviais e todos os barcos de pesca artesanal ali ancorados, fotografando tudo o que agora mostro nesta galeria.

On a full sun morning in late october, I visited the Areinho, down it from the Oporto Inn, in the eastern part of the city, to the bridge of São João, watching in the north bank of the river Douro its buildings and on the river and at the southern margin of the hand of Gaia, small plots of river beaches and all artisanal fishing boats anchored there, photographing everything I show now in this gallery.
